New chapter by Julian Aguon in “Formations of United States Colonialism” published by Duke University Press

On November 10, 2014, Duke University Press released “Formations of United States Colonialism: The Historical Present and the Horizon of Dispossession.” Aguon’s chapter analyzes the value of international law frameworks in contemporary self-determination struggles, while acknowledging the reciprocities between law and expansionism in the U.S. insular areas.
